Big 12 Basketball Power Rankings: Kansas State falls again, a familiar No. 1 ranking

Kansas State has lost four games straight while Houston had their winning streak snapped. Kansas is suddenly back at the top of the Big 12 standings. Time to see how the power rankings will shake out this week.

Last Week: 14

The Mountaineers find themselves at the bottom of the power rankings for the second week in a row. This team is young and has a new head coach and that combination typically struggles together. West Virginia is ranked last in the conference on offense, defense, and scoring margin.

This team is not horrible though, they show sparks of being able to work well together and win games. They had a big win over Kansas earlier this season, so this is not a lost season, it's just a rebuild. The Mountaineers can find their way to the top of the mountain top again, no pun intended. They just need another year or two to get comfortable with the players and the head coach.

This week West Virginia did have a solid win against Cincinnati, but then went on to lose to BYU at home. If the Mountaineers could string a few good wins together, I think they can feel better about this season and start preparing for next season.
