Houston had everything going for them, but unfortunately, they ran into the Phog, a place Kansas does not typically lose in. The Cougars had won five games in a row, including a close one in overtime over Texas. Sadly, they did not have enough firepower to take down Kansas in Lawrence.

However, the Jayhawks have to travel to Houston at the end of the season to wrap up conference play and that could be a very defining game. These two teams have stayed up with each other all season long, and each team could be on top of this conference.

Houston is not out of the running for the conference by any means, but they need to continue to win in this conference to stay up with Kansas because as we all know they tend to peak at the right moment.
