Iowa State dropped one place in the power rankings, but that is because they lost a tough one against Baylor, who after a three-game losing streak, has found their footing again. The Cyclones however are still very much in the mix for the Big 12 title, they are only half a game back from first place and all it takes is one slip-up by Kansas and Houston and the Cyclones are back in first.

The biggest heartbreak for the Cyclones is that if they win in that game against Baylor, they are currently in first place with a half-game lead. However, Iowa State can not dwell on that or else they could find themselves spiraling like Kansas State did.

This team had a great win against Kansas at home to stay undefeated in Ames. That is big going forward as they have six games at home and four away for the rest of conference play.
