Chris Klieman and his crew have been showing up in preseason rankings all offseason. It is no surprise that the Wildcats are expected to be near the top if not at the top of the Big 12. A lot of the rankings have K-State in the mid-teens, but one ranking has the Wildcats ranked higher than others.

Brett McMurphy released his top 25 and it has some very interesting rankings for certain teams. the reigning National Champions aren't in the top 10 and K-State is higher than their former Big 12 foes Oklahoma. McMurphy had the Wildcats ranked No. 11 just behind the team projected to finish at the top of the Big 12, Utah at No. 10.

In the recent preseason coaches poll that was released, the Wildcats were ranked 17th so this ranking gives the Wildcats a little respect and credit.

There are some questions that surround the Wildcats that can't be ignored, but it seems like anyone's answer is simply one player, Avery Johnson. With how much is being put on Johnson, you would think he is a seasoned veteran coming in as the best player in the country.

Johnson is the exact opposite in fact. He started and played the entirety of just one game last season, and only saw small bits of action during the regular season. However, in everything that Johnson showed, even in the smaller portions of action, he dazzled and made defenses hurt. Now he just has to prove he can do it all season long consistently.

New offensive coordinator Matt Wells will take over for former offensive coordinator and Kansas State Wildcats Collin Klein, who took a job at Texas A&M in the offseason.

Seeing the Wildcats ranked 11th in a ranking seems like a dream, but it is a reality adn they have the ability to take the college football season by storm, they just need to focus on the next game up throughout the season.
