Adrian Martinez showed up at Kansas State at just the right time. Skylar Thompson has just been drafted by the Miami Dolphins and even though Will Howard got playing time due to injuries, he had never been a full-time starter.
Martinez came in with full-time starting experience, and even though he dealt with injuries and missed games, he was instrumental in Kansas State having a successful 8-5 season post-COVID.
At Kansas State, Martinez threw for 1,261 passing yards, six interceptions, and just one interception. His rushing statistics were even better with 627 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. His ability to be such a mobile quarterback played into his injury issues, but he still was the spark the Wildcats needed on offense. He also was a good mentor for Howard and allowed him to learn more while he was still young.
