4 Most painful Kansas State football transfer portal departures of all time
As a true freshman, Will Lee III made his presence known by becoming a starter right away for Klieman's defense. In his lone season with the Wildcat, Lee recorded 42 total tackles, six passes defended, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Lee made the choice to transfer after his freshman season to Texas A&M, leaving his starting role with the Wildcats. With the talent Lee has, he can be a starter with the Aggies, but if he chose to stay at Kansas State, his starting role would have been waiting for him.
This is a tough loss for the Wildcats with the number of transfers that left after the 2023 season. The defense took a big hit and Lee would have been a great leader going forward. This was a tough one for Wildcat fans to swallow, especially with how young Lee was and the future he could of had at Kansas State.
