Biggest Loss

Safety Kobe Savage will be a big loss for Kansas State going forward. With multiple players leaving for the transfer portal on the defensive side of the ball, this one hurts K-State the most. Savage had a lot of experience in the secondary for the Wildcats. Savage chose to transfer to Oregon after the end of the 2023 season.

In his first season with the Wildcats, Savage had 58 total tackles, 45 solo tackles, one force fumble, and three interceptions. In his second season, he had similar stats with 57 total tackles, 38 solo tackles, and three interceptions.

The Wildcats are losing a lot of experience in a secondary that is young and struggled last season. Going forward playing teams that have a strong pass game, Savage will be missed. The middle of the field has been gutted on this Wildcats' defense that also lost two linebackers to the portal and one to the draft.
