There were very high hopes for Chris Canty coming out of college. He was a two-time consensus All-American and a two-time Thorpe Award finalist. He was an electric cornerback that was able to shut down receivers in the Big Eight.
Canty was never able to get his career off the ground in New England or in general. Just two seasons after being drafted. Canty found himself on the outside of the Patriots organization. Canty was traded to Seahawks and then traded again he following season to the Saints. After not playing many snaps for either team, Canty did not play for any other teams again.
