Class of 2026 cornerback Mason Lewis has narrowed his list of schools to five, with Kansas State still firmly in the mix.

Lewis, a 6-foot, 195-pound defensive back from Arizona, will choose between California, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Iowa and Kansas State. He is set to announce his decision on July 1.

Rated No. 52 among cornerbacks nationally and No. 5 overall in Arizona by the 247Sports Composite, Lewis is one of the top defensive prospects in the region. Known for his physicality and instincts in coverage, he’s drawn interest from a number of Power 4 programs.

He recently completed an official visit to Kansas State on June 5. He also holds offers from Arizona State, Iowa State, Kansas, Utah, and Washington State.

Kansas State currently has eight commitments in its 2026 class and continues to build momentum under head coach Chris Klieman. The Wildcats head into the 2025 season with elevated expectations, ranked No. 12 in USA Today’s preseason poll and No. 16 by Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt.

Defensively, K-State returns veterans like linebacker Austin Romaine and safety V.J. Payne, anchoring one of the Big 12’s more aggressive units. A commitment from Lewis would add further depth to a secondary looking to develop long-term talent.

Even if Lewis chooses another path, Kansas State could remain a factor in the future with the growing importance of the transfer portal.
