Chase Campbell lit up Texas high school defenses in 2024. Now, the four-star wide receiver is ready to reveal where he’ll play his college football.

The Wolfforth (Texas) Frenship standout will announce his commitment on July 22. He’s down to three finalists: Kansas State, Texas Tech, and Baylor.

Campbell is rated the No. 21 player in Texas and the No. 20 wide receiver in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He holds a rating of 0.9385 and has received more than 20 scholarship offers.

As a junior, Campbell caught 82 passes for 1,511 yards and 18 touchdowns. At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, he’s known for his acceleration and sharp route running.

Kansas State is actively rebuilding its wide receiver group this offseason after losing Keagan Johnson, Tre Spivey III, and Dante Cephus.

The Wildcats have brought in transfers Jerand Bradley (Texas Tech), Caleb Medford (New Mexico), and Jaron Tibbs (Purdue).

Returning is Jayce Brown, the team’s leading receiver in 2024. Tight ends Garrett Oakley, Will Swanson, Brayden Loftin, and freshman Linkon Cure are also expected to contribute.

The Wildcats enter the 2025 season with high expectations.

Quarterback Avery Johnson returns after a breakout year, joined by playmakers Dylan Edwards and Joe Jackson. On defense, veterans Austin Romaine and V.J. Payne lead an experienced unit.

Kansas State also addressed its offensive line needs via the transfer portal, adding Pitt’s Terrence Enos and Penn State transfer J.B. Nelson.

The Wildcats are getting national recognition in preseason rankings: No. 12 in USA Today, No. 16 in Joel Klatt’s post-spring Top 25, and No. 21 in ESPN’s Football Power Index—the highest FPI among Big 12 programs.

A commitment from Campbell would be another major step forward for a Kansas State program looking to cement itself as a Big 12 contender for years to come.
