Max Jones helped anchor Kansas State’s backcourt last season — now, the 6-foot-5 guard is taking his game to the next level, signing with Manchester Basketball in the UK.

The Wildcats’ reliable wing started all 33 games last season and has agreed to a professional contract, the British club announced this week.

The Clearwater, Florida, native averaged 9.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in nearly 30 minutes per game. He scored a season-high 22 points at UCF and posted double-digit scoring over a month during Big 12 play.

Jones finished second on the team in three-pointers made (45), free throws made (61), and free throws attempted (80). He also ranked among team leaders in rebounds, assists, and steals.

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to sign with Manchester,” Jones said in the team’s release. “This is a big step in my journey, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got, on and off the court. I’m looking forward to joining a great team, representing the city, and making an impact.”

He spent one season at Kansas State after transferring from Cal State Fullerton (2022–24) and began his career at Division II Tampa (2020–22).

“We are really happy to bring in Max. We've been impressed with what we’ve seen of him — his impact on defense and his ability to create and score on the offensive side,” Manchester GM Dominique Allen said. “He's already had invaluable experience in his five years in college. We're excited to have him on our roster.”

As Jones begins his pro career, Kansas State is focused on bouncing back from back-to-back losing seasons. The Wildcats went 16–17 overall and 9–11 in Big 12 play last year, tying for ninth in the conference.

Head coach Jerome Tang returns just three scholarship players — David Castillo, Mobi Ikegwuruka, and Taj Manning — and restocked the roster through the transfer portal.

Key additions include MAC Player of the Year Nate Johnson (Akron), Marcus Johnson (Bowling Green), and PJ Haggerty (Memphis), a second-team All-American.

Other newcomers include UNC Wilmington’s Khamari McGriff, Omaha’s Abdi Bashir, two international signees, and 6-foot-11 JUCO transfer Stephen Osei, who is expected to redshirt.

As Kansas State reshapes its roster for a fresh start, Jones begins a new chapter of his own overseas.
