There's no doubt that the Kansas State Wildcats lost a significant amount of talent with the departure of star guard P.J. Haggerty. Now, the fifth-year senior is taking his talents back home, this time to the SEC.
Kansas State star PG announces committment to Texas A&M Aggies
Haggerty's announcement was first reported by On3 on Friday afternoon. He was one an initial six players from last season's roster to enter their names into the portal within the first couple days of the window opening.

In his time with the Wildcats, he did more than stand out. As a junior, he ended the season as the only scorer in the Kansas State starting five averaging over 20 points per game, ending the year at 23.4 points and adding just under four assists per contest.
Haggerty led the Wildcats in scoring over 18 consecutive games spanning from the nonconference schedule to late in conferece play against West Virginia. He was one of two players, including Nate Johnson, to score 30 points against the Baylor Bears in 2026. Haggerty also ended the season as the nation's fourth-leading scorer behind Arkansas guard Darius Acuff.
Haggerty moving closer to home with Texas A&M announcement
Haggerty is originally from Crosby, Texas, just half an hour outside of Houston. The Texas A&M campus sits just under two hours away. Barring any unexpected commitment withdraws, the Aggies will become the second Texas school in five seasons that Haggerty will play for.
He previously played for TCU in 2022-23, but saw minimal cation. As a freshman, Haggerty saw just six starts, scoring just 17 points and ending the year with an average of 1.5 rebounds.
