K-State might already have a future star—and so does your Dynasty Mode.

Linkon Cure, the top tight end in the 2025 class, earned an 81 overall rating in College Football 26, ranking in the top 10 among incoming freshmen.

The 6-foot-5 standout from Goodland, Kansas, is the highest-rated recruit in K-State history, according to the 247Sports Composite (0.9816). He chose the Wildcats over national powerhouses including Alabama, Oregon, Michigan, and Oklahoma.

Known for his blend of size, athleticism, and sure hands, Cure projects as an immediate mismatch threat in the passing game. His blocking remains a work in progress, but the upside is obvious.

First-year offensive coordinator Matt Wells has weapons at his disposal, and Cure’s skill set could earn him playing time right away—especially if his blocking catches up to his pass-catching ability.

He joins a tight end room that returns Garrett Oakley, Will Swanson, and Brayden Loftin. But don’t be surprised if Cure sees early action—particularly in red-zone and third-down packages.

At quarterback, Avery Johnson returns for his junior year after flashing big-play potential in 2024. The dual-threat signal-caller is expected to take the next step, and he’ll have plenty of help around him if he does.

Kansas State enters 2025 with national hype, earning preseason rankings of No. 12 (USA Today), No. 16 (Joel Klatt, FOX Sports), and No. 21 (ESPN’s Football Power Index)—highest among Big 12 teams.

The Wildcats went 9–4 last season, capped by a thrilling 44–41 bowl win over Rutgers. With veteran depth and an elite freshman like Cure joining the mix, K-State is eyeing a serious run at the College Football Playoff.
