The Kansas State football team opened the season on Saturday with a heartbreaking loss to Iowa State in Dublin. After the final whistle, however, a report has arrived stating that there was a head-turning brawl that took place among the fanbase.
According to 247Sports' Tim Fitzgerald, the incident involved Avery Johnson's father Mark and another individual. Per Fitzgerald, Johnson's father was actually in a physical altercation with his other son who was also on hand at the stadium. The Wildcats suffered a 24-21 loss to Matt Campbell and the Cyclones, leading to tensions rising after the final whistle:

Avery Johnson's dad was involved in a nasty brawl after Kansas State lost to Iowa State
There's a video of the reported incident making the rounds on social media. We're not going to embed it in this story, but you can watch it here if you choose to do so. Fitzgerald's report also states that no arrests were made and that this all went down right outside the Aviva Stadium.
Johnson got off to a bit of a slow start in this one, throwing for only 60 yards in the first half, though he did have a rushing score. It's safe to say he heated up in the second half, however, as he finished the showdown against the Cyclones with 273 passing yards and two touchdowns, plus his score on the ground.
After his rough showing in the first 30 minutes, plenty of people were quick to call him out on social media, but he surely silenced plenty of haters with how he was able to respond after coming back out from the locker room. In the end, his strong showing wasn't enough to power his team to a win.
As for what happened after the Kansas State loss, the Wildcats have not released any kind of a statement over the unfortunate turn of events involving Johnson's family. Instead, head coach Chris Klieman was more focused on discussing the game and trying to defend his brutal 4th-down call in the fourth quarter that fans are convinced cost the Wildcats the game.
