Donovan Webb, one of the top defensive backs in the 2026 class, has narrowed his recruitment to four schools — and Kansas State made the cut.
The 6-foot, 185-pound cornerback/safety from Panther Creek High School (Frisco, Texas) announced Thursday that Kansas State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Texas Tech are his finalists.

Webb is scheduled to make his college decision on July 2.
A key target for the Wildcats, Webb took an official visit to Manhattan from May 29–31 and later shared on social media that he had a “great time in MHK.” He also visited Michigan the weekend of June 8, as part of a busy summer schedule.
As a junior, Webb was named first-team all-district and co-defensive MVP after tallying 120 tackles, five interceptions, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two punt return touchdowns. He also contributed on offense with 19 carries for 172 yards.

Rated a .8970 in the 247Sports Composite, Webb ranks as the No. 47 overall prospect in Texas and the No. 32 safety nationally. He’s widely regarded for his fluid coverage skills, ability to read plays, and versatility in the secondary.
Webb holds offers from a long list of Power 4 programs, including Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, Auburn, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, TCU, Baylor, and Texas A&M.
Kansas State currently holds eight commitments in its 2026 class under head coach Chris Klieman.
Coming off a strong 2024 campaign, the Wildcats enter the 2025 season with momentum and are ranked No. 12 in USA Today’s preseason poll and No. 16 by Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt.
The defense returns veterans like linebacker Austin Romaine and safety V.J. Payne, forming the core of an aggressive Big 12 unit. The potential addition of Webb would be huge as it would bring high-upside depth and long-term playmaking potential to the Cats secondary.
Even if Webb eventually opts for another program, K-State could remain in the picture down the road with the growing role of the transfer portal in roster building.
