Kansas State Wildcat fans are unhappy. The basketball team lost their fourth straight game on Wednesday 80-68 to Oklahoma State.

Fans are unhappy with coach Bruce Weber. He wasn’t a popular choice when he was hired. He’s held the program together but never accomplished what fans want.

Weber’s team has lost 5 games in the “Octagon of Doom”- Bramlage Coliseum for a second straight season.

This year’s Wildcat team has had a roller coaster ride. They’ve had big wins over Baylor and West Virginia. A close, controversial loss at Kansas was difficult to swallow and now 4 straight home losses – the longest stretch since losing 5 in a row in 2000.

As a result, fans expressed their disappointment on social media.

Despite the loss, Kansas State has won 17 games and is sitting in 6th place with a 6-9 mark in the difficult round-robin schedule of the Big 12. It is the most challenging conference in the nation.

CBS still includes Weber’s team in their NCAA tourney bracket, although hanging by a thread as a team to participate in the first-four contests against Marquette.

On Tuesday, ESPN bracket guru Joe Lunardi had Kansas State as an 11 seed with the ‘Cats playing Creighton and former Kansas State star Marcus Foster.

That changed on Wednesday morning. He moved the ‘Cats out of his bracket.

Kansas State must finish the season strong. The Wildcat have three games remaining including two away from home.

They should be able to take care of business against Oklahoma in Norman on Saturday evening. The final two games, at TCU and back home for Texas Tech could prove more difficult.

Bruce Weber will need to motivate this team in a way he has not done so far in the final days of February.
The good news, the final two games will be in March. Maybe that will help?
