For our next installment of the 100 day countdown to kickoff against North Dakota State University, 83 is the number of days left as well as the jersey number worn by senior receiver Logan Stephens. The Jug has fallen victim recently to discussing a couple of select players, but Stephens is among a number of players with the ability to K-State stay on top.
Stephens didn’t see much playing time in 2013 with Tyler Lockett, Tramaine Thompson, and Chris Harper on the field. However, with Harper now playing for the Seahawks and an offensive playbook that looks to air it out more in 2013, don’t be surprised to see Logan with the ball in his hands this season.
Stephens transferred from Dodge City Community College last year after a breakout year with the Conquistadors. While with Dodge City he hauled in a school-record 77 catches for 977 yards in ten games, with six touchdowns his sophomore year. However, he cut his teeth as a freshman on special teams where he may look to play regularly this year as well. He saw time in eight games while recording four tackles for the Wildcats last year. Yet most importantly, Stephens shares the same torn optimism/pessimism for Royals as The Jug:
