Welcome to our humble abode. Pull up a seat and grab a glass for a sip from today’s Jug of News. Hit the jump for Frank Martin making a fool of himself (again), K-State basketball hosting a high school tournament, and a sneak peak of a new Marshall Meek column that you’re not going to want to miss.

Frank Martin just can’t help himself. After his attempt to gain some sort of Pyrrhic victory over John Currie during his exit from K-State, you’d think the man would learn some lessons in tact. As a failed-football-coach-turned-ESPN-loudmouth likes to say, “Not so fast, my friend.” Of all things, the first pile of poo Martin chooses to plant his foot in as an SEC coach is picking a Twitter fight with John Calipari.

This idiotic tweet has inspired much derision, and not just among fans of UK–and it’s well-deserved. Frank Martin, for all that he accomplished at our school, is not in the same zip code as John Calipari. Hell, he’s not on the same continent, and his planetary status as regards Calipari is even in some doubt. Seriously, Frank, shut up. For your own good, shut up.

Speaking of K-State basketball (bad segue, but you work with what you’ve got), our new basketball coach is working hard. He has put together a High School Shootout, that KSU is sponsoring. It will take place on Saturday, and games will be played in Bramlage, Ahearn, and the Peters Recreation Center. He’s also not picking Twitter fights, and using teenage girl abbreviations on his Twitter feed, which is a good thing, I think.

Finally, JOS columnist Marshall Meek is putting the finishing touches on an empirical analysis that shows the Big 12 is actually better off with West Virginia and TCU than if Missouri and Texas A&M had stayed. I’ve read what he’s got so far, and it’s pretty definitively true. The column will post either today or tomorrow, and you won’t want to miss it. In other site-related news, “Bill Snyder Laughed SO Hard…” is taking a 1-week hiatus. Brady’s column will return, as scheduled, next Thursday.
