Dalonte Hill Takes Paycut

Looks like we didn’t lose Dalonte Hill to Maryland because of money. Hill’s contract was released this week and he will be making $300,000, which is about $120,000 less than he was making at Kansas State. This shows that it was really more about Dalonte going back to the Baltimore-D.C. area than it was about money, as I am sure that being the head coach their someday would be his dream job.

"COLLEGE PARK — It was just a few years ago that the salaries of Maryland’s assistant men’s basketball coaches ranked at or near the bottom of Atlantic Coast Conference schools.Times have changed.Multiple sources said Thursday that Maryland is paying Dalonte Hill about $300,000 to be an assistant coach on Mark Turgeon’s staff."

As a Kansas State fan, I wish we could have kept him for his talent at recruiting a basketball rich area. As a basketball fan, this move makes complete sense Dalonte and shows his passion for his home area.
