The Ballad of Curtis Kelly

Curtis Kelly is up to it again. This morning Kansas State fans will be welcomed with news that Kelly is under a continuing investigation that could potentially cost him his eligibility and financial aid. At this point, it’s not a big surprise. This season has not been what anyone hoped for from Ck. The highlight came before any basketball had even been played when he received preseason Big 12 honors. From there it’s all been downhill. He’s been benched, not allowed to suit up for games, suspended for 6 games, and sat the second half of a rivalry. But the worst thing is that is hasn’t made any difference in him at all. No change, no sorry, nothing. It’s tough to get down on any K-State player. Pullen has done and said some incredibly stupid things this season, but if he finishes without trouble, he’ll still be appreciated and even celebrated for what he has brought to Kansas State during his time here. With CK, it just seems to be time to move on. I remember when Kelly transferred he talked about how much different it felt to be at KSU. The main thing he mentioned was finally feeling like he was part of a basketball family. Maybe he forgot, maybe he was lying to make fans feel good about him. Either way, this isn’t how you contribute to a family. I hope this is what finally knocks something into his head and he understands the value of everything he is on the cusp of losing. I seriously hope, but I don’t think it will be.
