Colorado @ K-State

Colorado has been a year in, year out middle to lower finishing team in the Big 12. They never seem to pose a huge threat in conference match-ups but always have an athlete or two that can make things interesting. This year, that player is Alec Burks.

The only reason Kansas State’s loss to OK State on Saturday didn’t get more play was because of what Burks did to Mizzou. Burks scored 36 points in a 89-76 victory over the Tigers in Boulder. It’s pretty clear at this point into the season that Missouri has been playing better basketball than Kansas State has. If Burks can single handedly pull out a win against them, K-State may be in trouble tonight as well.

Burks is really the only player that needs to be shut down. If he goes off again, the rest of CU can chip in a few points here and there and make this game winnable. If Burks is held to an average game, Kansas State shouldn’t have much trouble at all. Throw in the home conference opener in the Octagon of Doom, and I see a solid win for K-State.

Final Score: KSU 68 CU 59
