What A Weekend!

As you know if you checked out Jug of Snyder, I was out for a few days taking a trip to the playoff game in Kansas City. I pulled into KC around noon on Saturday and got into my brother’s house just in time to watch the tip off of the KSU – OKST game. I was half delirious from the 12 hour drive but not so out of it that I wasn’t pretty upset about the final score. I expected the Cats to pull it out but there’s no way we are going to win any game the rest of this season if 4 of our guys foul out. I don’t fault them either. That game was so inconsistently officiated that they couldn’t adjust the play. I am starting to think that the reputation for being a defensive minded and physical basketball team is making any official in charge of a K-State game a little too trigger happy. I think that’s exactly what we saw Saturday. It’s hard to say that’s not the only thing that beat K-State on Saturday but there were opportunities missed just as with any loss. I’ll get a full post-game reaction up soon as well as a look ahead to Colorado this week, who pulled of a big victory over Missouri. Wednesday night looks a whole heck of a lot scarier than it did not too long ago.

For those of you who are Chiefs fans, while the outcome of the game wasn’t what we dreamed of, I can say Arrowhead was absolutely the place to be at noon on Sunday. I was at the Monday night opener in September and I still say Sunday was the loudest that stadium has been in a long time. Every seat was filled with red and everybody was as loud as they could get. Even after the wheels fell off in the third quarter, Arrowhead was going strong.
