With K-State set to host Baylor in Big 12 play today, here’s what you need to know:

Game Time: 3:30 ET/2:30 CT

Weather Report: Beautiful day out there. Couldn’t ask for much better. 66 degrees, no rain.

What’s At Stake: K-State knew it was heading into a rebuilding year, but had no intention of starting the year 2-3 with no wins to date in league play. Baylor is running over, around, and through every opponent is faces and is averaging 70.5 points per game. However, national perception still doubts that Baylor can keep up the torrid pace. Do it again, and the Bears should shoot up in the polls.

Injuries?: Boston Stiverson is still yet to play this year, and is reportedly out for this game too. We’re yet to see whether the sophomore tackle/guard will be able to contribute this year. Tramaine Thompson accompanied the team to Oklahoma State but did not suit up and has been battling mono. He’s doubtful again. Tyler Lockett came up favoring his leg after a run that saw him injure his hamstring. Without its two starting wide receivers, K-State still did a damn fine job trying to keep with Oklahoma State in spite of the turnovers. The team still needs the duo – the tandem is leading the nation in return average.

Intangibles: It’s getting to be an old story right now, but it bears repeating: Baylor ruined a perfect regular season for K-State last year. Baylor had lost five of its last six prior to that game and was a massive underdog despite K-State missing Ty Zimmerman and Collin Klein still struggling with the effects of a concussion. This year Baylor seems ready to bowl through its regular season and on to the BCS with K-State looking to be the disappointment of the conference. Could redemption be in the stars? The current betting line is Baylor by 17 points, but no one in the media seems to believe the Wildcats stand a chance of covering. Never count Bill Snyder out.
