The Outland Trophy Award has officially released its watch list of players in 2013 and Kansas State has landed two players in B.J. Finney and Cornelius Lucas. The trophy intends to identify the nation’s best interior lineman, which include offensive guards, tackles, and centers, in addition to defensive tackles. 75 players nationwide were named to the list that Finney and Lucas were named to.

Finney has already been singled out as one of the best centers in the nation, and was named to the Rimington Watch List last week. Lucas is one of the better offensive tackles in the nation, and has been identified as the best offensive lineman in the Big 12. The two will combine with Tavon Rooks, Cody Whitehair, and Boston Stiverson to make what should be the best line in the league.

Of the 75 players on the watch list, the committee will select between six and seven semifinalists on November 20. The finalists will be announced November 25 and the winner on December 12 as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show. As we’ve come to expect, the SEC leads all conferences with 16 players on the list. The Pac-12 is second with 12, followed by the ACC (11), Big Ten (10) and Big 12 (10). The list is not yet official as names can be added or removed, but with the way Finney and Lucas played last year, there’s little chance there names don’t stay until the end.
