It’s been a little slow for Wildcat Nation this week as both our men’s and women’s basketball teams are done for the season which leaves us watching teams like VCU and Butler get all the attention. The baseball team is still chugging along which provides something to follow but most of the news right now is coming from programs around K-State. I am cheering on Wichita State tonight in the NIT as I was born in Wichita and never mind seeing them get better as long as it doesn’t come at the cost of the Wildcats. Hit the jump to get a rundown of what’s been going on in Manhappenin’!

Basketball

All Pullen all the time! Jacob Pullen has been named a John Wooden All-American. Fear the Beard is one of ten players in the country to have this honor. One of the ten will be selected later as the John Wooden Award winner.

Pullen will also be playing in Reese’s All Star Game on Friday and competing in a 3 point competition today. These events can be seen on ESPN2 and TruTV respectively.

The Frances Pomeroy Naismith winner is also Mr. Pullen. This award is given to the best player 6 foot and under and who else could have possibly even been in competition with Pullen?

And finally, Agent 0 was also named a third team AP All-American. It’s obviously been a heck of a week for our favorite player.

Baseball

The Kansas State Baseball team picked up two wins over Northern Colorado which is a nice beginning to an eight game home stand. They take on Texas A&M in Manhattan at 6:30 this evening so if you are in the area head on over to the ball park and cheer on the BatCats.

Football

Kansas State picked up a solid quarterback recruit recently. The best part about this was that he comes from the heart of Cornland. Read all about it here:  http://journalstar.com/sports/high-school/football/article_3aabc488-53c5-58f9-a344-59e1229046f5.html

Tomorrow opens the month that will bring spring practice and the spring game. It’s always time for football!
