Coach Knows Best.

Good article discussing the fall of the men’s team this season and Frank Martin’s honesty with it from the get go. I have always gotten the feeling that Martin tells it like it is and is pretty honest about the decisions made and things that are going on with the team. Bill Snyder is the same kind of coach. While he is infinitely more secretive with the details, Snyder always gives honest evaluations of what’s going on. I’d take these two guys any day over someone like a Lane Kiffin.

Dan, I enjoy the show. Why such a vitriolic review? I understand the comparisons to Deadwood but don’t feel like any of the story was stolen or ripped off. Many westerns use the same general archetypes to tell their stories. If you don’t like the show, that’s fine but I don’t understand the need for the hateful tone. This show can’t be Deadwood for a number of reasons, only 42 minutes to tell the story, a very limited budget and the restrictions of basic cable. None of which restricted Deadwood. I agree the first season is uneven but I found many episodes engaging and I’m looking forward to season 2. Why so hateful? WA
