Updates are surfacing on former Kansas State, and current Packer stand out WR, Jordy Nelson.

Nelson took a vicious hit Sunday in the Packers Wild Card game against the Giants. The updates aren’t favorable.

Stan caught us up on the nasty hit Jordy Nelson took on Sunday from Giants Cornerback Leon Hall. Hall went in for the hit on the former Kansas State WR while he was in the air trying to make a sideline grab.

Nelson would never haul in the pass and the ensuing hit was made with the crown of the helmet directly made into Nelson’s ribs. Hall was not flagged, he should have been. It was an illegal hit to a defenseless receiver.

As today has gone on, concerned Packer and Wildcat fans alike have been seeking updates on Nelson. The Packers have been silent, and rightfully so. Until all tests and evaluations are complete, they shouldn’t say anything.

However, speculation has began to surface, and it isn’t good Wildcat Nation. Hopefully, this speculation isn’t as true as it seems.

This isn’t the comforting news many were hoping for today. The broken ribs seemed almost a given after seeing the hit. But a collapsed lung and lacerated spleen? Man, that is some tough news to take.

This injury, coming on the heels of a gruesome leg injury to former Wildcat and Seahawk WR Tyler Lockett in the final week of the season, another former Wildcat going down was like salt in an open wound. Lockett has already had surgery on his leg.

Jordy had worked so hard after his season-ending tear of his ACL, in the pre-season last year. To come back and make it to the playoffs, be the NFL’s leading touchdown receiver (and no Pro Bowl nod, I might add), only to end it in such a way, is an injustice; Jordy deserved better.

Next: Here's Some Good News

From us here at Jug of Snyder, we want to wish Jordy Nelson and Tyler Lockett speedy recoveries and our prayers.

No one likes to see players go down, but when it hits close to home, on two of the most popular players in recent Wildcat history, it down right stinks.
