Kansas State will kick off the 2016 football season in style as Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be “striped out” to honor Coach Snyder’s induction to the College Football Hall of Fame.

Coach Snyder has seen a lot during his 23 years at Kansas State but September 5th will be his first “stripe out”

Fans attending the September 5th K-State Family Reunion against South Dakota are being asked to wear purple or white depending on their seat location. A stadium seating chart identifying section colors is available at kstatesports.com.

“With another sellout crowd expected for the game, we are excited for this opportunity to showcase the passion of the K-State Family to the entire nation,” said associate AD for ticketing and fan strategies Scott Garrett. “…September 5th will be a great visual way to celebrate the start of the season and coach Snyder’s selection into the College Football Hall of Fame.”

Bill Snyder was voted into the new College Football Hall of Fame back in January by the National Football Foundation. A foundation representative will be on hand where Snyder is expected to be honored on the field before kick off.

To further commemorate the event, Kansas State is selling limited edition t-shirts that feature Coach Snyder’s “16 Goals For Success.” Shirts are appropriately available in purple and white and can be purchased online at the official K-State Online Store. $5 from the purchase of each shirt will fund the future northeast corner component of Vanier Football Complex Project.
