For Kansas State center B.J. Finney, the awards list recognitions don’t seem to end. Already named to two different watch lists, on Monday he was also recognized by the Rotary Lombardi Award Committee by being named to the Committee’s watch list. The Lombardi Award attempts to determine the nation’s best down linemen which, according to KStateSports.com, is defined as any player that lines up “end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set(s) up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no further than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage.”

107 players were named to the Trophy’s watch list, which includes 12 players form the Big 12. Finney has already been named to the Rimington Watch List, which identifies the nation’s best center, and the Outland Trophy Watch List, which is awarded to the nation’s best interior lineman. His candidacy follows a season in which he was named the the All-Big 12 First Team and received votes for the league’s Offensive Lineman of the Year.

The semifinalists for the Lombardi Award will be recognized on November seventh with finalists determined on November 21. The winner will then be crowned on December 11.
