Welcome to our humble abode. Pull up a seat and grab a glass for a sip from today’s Jug of News. Hit the jump for Arthur Brown talking about leadership, ESPN Big 12 blogger David Ubben’s “unique” placement of Collin Klein on his all-Big 12 ballot, and more.
Arthur Brown is my favorite player on this year’s team. Don’t misunderstand, I love Collin Klein, and we’d be lost without him, but there’s something about Brown that I just find really easy to like. The Topeka Capital-Journal’s Kevin Haskin did a piece on AB, and it confirms everything I’ve thought about the guy: he’s humble, unassuming, and willing to learn. He talks about how he’s learned a lot about leadership during his time at KSU, which I love to hear as well. This season is shaping up to be something really special.
As for Collin Klein, erstwhile ESPN Big 12 blogger David Ubben released his ballot for the all-Big 12 team. While Collin Klein was on it, Ubben’s placement of him was… odd, to say the least.
Staying with football, Wildcat freshman WR Deante Burton went back to high school, if only for a day. He played in the Kansas Shrine Bowl, and suffice to say, he’s glad to have Klein, Daniel Sams, and Tay Bender throwing him passes this fall.
Finally, the K-State baseball team added a new recruit. South Dakota pitcher Landon Busch will take the mound at Tointon next spring. Several other schools were in the mix for Busch, so he seems a pretty decent “get” for Brad Hill’s club. We definitely need some pitching, after the season we just had.
CODA: Kevin Kietzman–and his son, Spencer–are lying liars, who tried to convince people that former K-State great Jacob Pullen is a serial criminal. Just keeping that little tidbit front-of-mind, in hopes that people will pressure them both into issuing a full retraction and an apology.
