Kansas State’s Ryann Kraiss Wins Big 12 Title In Heptathlon

Ryann Krais won the Big 12 Championship in the Heptathlon today. She became the first Wildcat to win a conference championship in that event since 2001.

Krais tallied a total of 5,661 points in the event. She is an aspiring Olympian, and will compete for a spot to represent the United States at the 2012 London Olympics. The 2012 United States Olympic Trials (website) begin June 21, and run through July 1. Krais’ Heptathlon qualifying begins on June 29, with the 100m Hurdles at 10:30 AM, concluding the next day, with the 800m at 6:20 PM.
