A&M to SEC?

If the speculation is true, and Texas A&M joins the Southeastern Conference, where does that leave K-State in the ever-depleting Big12? We here at Jug of Snyder are just waiting for the other shoe to drop in the Texas two-step so we can go back to the days of the Big Eight. Even if the Aggies join the SEC and the Longhorn secede to independent status an eight team division in the age of superconferences is highly unlikely…

Big 12 doesn’t survive without Texas, they have to have them. I see K-State and Kansas going to the Big East, which I think would be a great move for K-State sports (especially football). If we go to a non-BCS conference then I might send my diploma back :)

A move to the Big East would be especially excellent for the Kansas basketball teams. East Coast television coverage equals more exposure, deeper competition and better recruiting. I wouldn’t mind a move to the ACC for the same reason. Or perhaps a mega-conference focusing on basketball while the remaining football powerhouses fight over scraps.
